Terms of service
This is an English translation of the German original, provided for your convenience. Only the German version is legally binding.
As of: 24 October 2026
1. Scope
The following General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all orders placed by consumers and businesses via our online shop at carbonworks.de.
A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that can predominantly be attributed neither to their commercial nor to their independent professional activity. A business is a natural or legal person or a partnership with legal capacity that, when entering into a legal transaction, acts in the exercise of its commercial or independent professional activity.
For businesses, these GTC also apply to future business relationships without us having to refer to them again. If the business uses conflicting or supplementary general terms and conditions, their validity is hereby rejected; they only become part of the contract if we have expressly agreed to them.
2. Contracting party
The purchase contract is concluded with:
Simon Bühler, CarbonWorks, Seewiesenweg 6, 87448 Waltenhofen, Germany
Email: info [at] carbonworks.de
3. Conclusion of contract
By placing the products in the online shop, we make a binding offer to conclude a contract for these items. You can first place our products in the cart without obligation and correct your entries at any time before submitting your binding order by using the correction options provided in the ordering process (e.g. “Back”, changing the quantity in the cart, editing the address data).
The contract is concluded when you accept the offer for the goods contained in the cart by clicking the order button at the end of the ordering process. Immediately after submitting the order, you will receive an order confirmation by email.
If you choose a payment method for which you are redirected to the website of a payment service provider (e.g. PayPal), the contract is concluded at the time you confirm the payment instruction with the payment service provider.
The contract language is German.
4. Storage of the contract text
We store the contract text. You will receive the order details with the order confirmation by email. You can view and print these GTC on this page at any time. If you have created a customer account, you can view your past orders there.
5. Prices
For deliveries within the European Union, all prices include statutory VAT. Deliveries to countries outside the European Union are made without German VAT; the price valid for the respective country of delivery is shown in the shop and during checkout.
In addition to the stated prices, we charge shipping costs. The amount of the shipping costs depends on the country of delivery and is shown in our shipping policy and during checkout before you complete your order.
For deliveries to countries outside the European Union, further costs may arise in individual cases for which we are not responsible and which are to be borne by the customer, e.g. customs duties, import VAT and fees of the delivery company. Deliveries to the USA are an exception: they are delivered duty paid; customs and import duties are included in the shipping costs.
6. Delivery
We deliver exclusively by shipping; collection in person is not possible. You can find the delivery area, shipping providers and delivery times in our shipping policy and on the respective product page.
7. Payment
The payment methods available to you are shown during checkout. In particular, we offer the following payment methods:
Credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay
Payment is processed via Shopify Payments. By placing the order, you release your payment data; your account is charged immediately after the order is completed.
PayPal
You pay the invoice amount via the online provider PayPal. As a rule, you must be registered there or register, verify yourself with your login details and confirm the payment instruction to us. You will receive further information during checkout.
The goods are shipped after successful payment.
8. Right of withdrawal
Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal as described in our cancellation policy. The withdrawal can also be declared online via the “Withdraw from contract” button at carbonworks.de/en/pages/widerruf. Businesses are not granted a voluntary right of withdrawal.
9. Retention of title
The goods remain our property until full payment has been made.
In addition, the following applies to businesses: we retain title to the goods until all claims arising from an ongoing business relationship have been settled in full. You may resell the goods subject to retention of title in the ordinary course of business; you hereby assign to us in advance all claims arising from this resale in the amount of the invoice, regardless of any combination or mixing of the goods subject to retention of title with a new item, and we accept this assignment. You remain authorised to collect the claims; however, we may also collect claims ourselves if you do not meet your payment obligations.
10. Transport damage
If goods are delivered with obvious transport damage, please report such defects to the delivery company as soon as possible and contact us without delay. Failure to make a complaint or to contact us has no consequences for your statutory claims and their enforcement, in particular your warranty rights. However, you help us to assert our own claims against the carrier or the transport insurance.
11. Warranty, extended period and crash replacement
The statutory law on liability for defects applies.
Extended period for purchases in the online shop: For new goods that you buy directly via carbonworks.de, we voluntarily extend the limitation period for claims for defects from two to a total of three years from delivery of the goods. Not covered is damage caused by falls, accidents or other overload, improper installation or use, and normal wear and tear. Your statutory rights are not restricted by this provision.
Crash replacement: If a product is damaged by a fall or other overload, we offer a replacement at individual conditions. This is a voluntary goodwill service without any legal entitlement. Just write to us at info [at] carbonworks.de.
For businesses, the limitation period for claims for defects is one year from delivery of the goods; this does not apply to claims for damages in the event of injury to life, body or health or in the event of intent or gross negligence.
12. Installation and safety
Our products are lightweight bicycle components. Please observe the installation instructions for the respective product (e.g. correct screw size, tightening torques, use of carbon assembly paste). If you have questions about compatibility with your bike, we will be happy to help you before you order.
13. Liability
We are liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and to the extent of any guarantee assumed. In the event of a slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation, the fulfilment of which makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose compliance you may regularly rely (cardinal obligation), our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.
14. Dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
15. Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law only applies insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection granted by mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which the consumer has their habitual residence.
If you are a merchant within the meaning of the German Commercial Code, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from contractual relationships between us and you is our place of business.
Should individual provisions of these GTC be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
